Stonedale Property Management signs up to Property Ombudsman
Stonedale Property Management has signed up to give customers access to a free and independent ombudsman service as part of its complaints resolution policy.
Previously known as the Surveyors Ombudsman Service, it will officially change its name on 1 April 2010 to Ombudsman Services: Property. The new name reflects the increasing number of residential managing agents who are now members of the service.
Originally set up by The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and approved by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT), the ombudsman can only look at problems if one of its member firms is involved. Stonedale Property Management have signed up to give their customers access to this recognised, independent dispute resolution service.
Felix Keen, Head of RMC Division, comments: “We pride ourselves on providing an excellent service for our residents and take customer complaints very seriously. By joining the ombudsman scheme we have provided our customers with another way of resolving an issue if they feel we have not resolved it to their satisfaction.”
Customers can contact the ombudsman if after eight weeks of making the complaint they are still not happy with the way the company has dealt with it. If a customer is not satisfied with the solution that has been offered, or if they have experienced unfair treatment, avoidable delays, a failure to follow proper procedures, rudeness or discourtesy; Ombudsman Services: Property will consider whether the company in question must take any action or if a financial award is required.
